Music Greats Gather to Celebrate Latin Jazz Legend Ray Santos 80th Birthday

On Monday, May 18th, 2009 at Dizzy's Coca-Cola Club at Jazz at Lincoln, Ray SantosCandido Camero, Alfredo “Chocolate" Armenteros and Jimmy Bosch and many more musicians will gather with the Latin Jazz All Stars for a special 80th birthday celebration for legendary Latin jazz composer, arranger and saxophonist Ray Santos. The ensemble group will perform sizzling Santos compositions such as Sunny Ray, Azulito and 3-D Mambo, set behind the backdrop of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline in honor of one the most important figures in Latin music.

I have had the privilege and honor of working with Maestro Ray Santos for over 15 years and am delighted to share this special moment with him, his family and the many musicians that will participate on May 18th. I encourage music lover to come out and help us celebrated this very special 80th Birthday event. Happy Birthday Senor Maestro. Wishing you many many more.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. set and at 9:00 p.m. for the 9:30 p.m. set. Cover charge is $20. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis either at tables or at the bar.
